On November 24, 2023, the “National Rational Use of Antimicrobial Agents” training summary meeting and the 35th session of the “Food Safety Afternoon Tea” were successfully held in Chuzhou, under the guidance of the Livestock and Veterinary Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, organized by the National Animal Health and Food Safety Innovation Alliance, and co-organized by Sun Valley Foods (Anhui) Ltd., Lilan Animal Protection, and the World Animal Protection Association. In the morning, the guests collectively visited Sun Valley Foods’ primary processing plant and deep processing plant to gain a systematic understanding of how Sun Valley controls the industry chain and reasonably regulates the use of antimicrobial agents in animal husbandry. In the afternoon, the participants gathered at the Chuzhou Sheraton Hotel to attend the national training summary meeting on the rational use of antimicrobial agents and the 35th session of the “Food Safety Afternoon Tea”.

Huang Xiuying, the Technical Director of Lilan Animal Protection, showcased Lilan’s concepts and practices in the use of antimicrobial agents. Sun Jian, a professor at South China Agricultural University, vividly narrated “The Song of the Sword and Shield: The Wonderful Moments of Antibiotics’ Battle Against Microorganisms.” Dr. Hannah Larsen, Global Animal Welfare Advisor at the World Animal Protection Association, introduced the organization’s concepts and practices in the use of antimicrobial agents.
